The October issue of the local free paper Naradewa has been released. The collaboration article with Sasebo E Channel is titled”English Yosakoi.” YOSAKOI Sasebo Festival will be held from October 20 to 22 this year. E-chan is participating in a special team created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this Festival, called “International Team-GO!!-
『月刊ならでわ！』とSasebo E Channelのコラボ企画、10月号では、“英語のまち・佐世保”を象徴する国際交流YOSAKOIチームを紹介しています。10月20～22日に開催の「YOSAKOIさせぼ祭り」では、25周年を記念し、国際交流をテーマとした「インターナショナルチーム-GO!!-」が結成される運びに！ Sasebo E Channelもサポーターとして立ち上げから参加しています。
【English Yosakoi Team Formed!|英語で交わるYOSAKOIチーム結成】
“Many foreign people are living in Sasebo. So it was a longtime dream to develop international exchange through Yosakoi dance,” said Koji Kawakami from the Yosakoi Sasebo Matsuri Executive Committee. Rie sensei and Yuki sensei were happy to cooperate this project. However, while everything was a first attempt, the stage prepared for the International Team GO! is a competition for teams with more than 100 members! That means we need at least 100 members together with another special team, Team Daiden!
外国人が多く暮らす佐世保の街らしく、YOSAKOIを通じて国際交流できないかというのは、実行委員会の川上耕史さんの長年の夢だったそうです。その話を聞いてRie先生とYuki先生も喜んで協力することにしました。しかし、すべてが初の試みながら、インターナショナルチームｰGO!!-のために用意された舞台は「100人以上のチームが出演するプログラム」！ Team”DAIDEN!”と合同で100人バトルステージを目指すことに！

【The First Foreign Participant|外国人の参加者１人目は･･･】
The first foreign resident who joined our team was Jason from Australia. He loves Japan. After studying Japanese for 7 years, he finally moved here as an English teacher (ALT) last year. “When I first saw the Yosakoi Sasebo Festival last year, I thought I wanted to be a part of it!,” said Jason. Now here he is as a dancer. Jason is also a guitarist and has recently started playing the shamisen! He seems to be enjoying Japanese culture to the fullest.
募集を見て真っ先にチームに参加してくださったのは、オーストラリア出身のジェイソンさん。日本が大好きで7年間、日本語を勉強し、１年前に日本へ移住。現在はＡＬＴとして市内の中学校で英語を教えています。去年初めてYOSAKOIさせぼ祭りを見て｢自分も踊りたい！｣と思ったとのこと！ ギタリストでもあるジェイソンさんは、最近、三味線も始められたよう！日本文化を満喫してますね。
【Members are increasing! | メンバー増加中！】
At the first trial session, there was one foreign participant… Yuki sensei and Rie sensei was worried, “Oh, no! What are we going to do?” But Jason brought his friends a lot and word of mouth gradually spread. And surprisingly, more than 20 foreign residents gathered at the third trial session! 第１回目の体験会では外国人の参加者が１人。ひえー！どうしよう～！ と内心、冷や汗なＥチャンでしたが、ジェイソンさんが友達を連れてきてくれ、次第に口コミでも広がり、３回目の体験会では、なんと20人以上もの外国人さんが集まりました！インターナショナルチームGOは地元の日本人と合わせ、着々とメンバーを増やしています。メンバーはまだまだウェルカム！ということで、興味のある方は @yosakoi_sasebo まで💌
We will get together a few times to practice before the festival, and then we will go on stage. Most of the members will be participating for the first time, but we will enjoy ourselves to the fullest.
これから祭りまで数回集まって練習をし、本番を迎えます。ほとんどのメンバーが初参加ですが、みんなで思い切り楽しみたいと思います。
