Key visual for Nagasaki exhibition (2)

The exhibition currently held at Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum in Nagasaki City commemorates the 30th anniversary of the publication of Araki’s “JOJO’s Bizarre Adventure . You can experience the history of the popular manga through its original drawings as well as new works drawn especially for the exhibition.

【Amazing. Breathtaking. Need I say more? 】

Even if you don’t know JOJO, the coloring, the lines, the composition, the aesthetics, the creativity, and the life, or the power of the work will blow your mind. Araki has influences from various arts including Italian Renaissance and today’s high-end brand advertisements. If told this was a Design Exhibition or a modern pop-art exhibition from NY, you’d believe it.

【12 Original Panels : 2m x 1.2m】

When you get to the room where it displays the 12 grand panels drawn especially for the exhibition, do not miss the video on the wall. It shows how the panels were created, from sketch to painting. Especially during painting, you’ll be overwhelmed by the author’s brush technique. Truly amazing. The room also exhibits items that were used during the process, including Araki’s apron.

【Students up to Junior High are FREE!】

The biggest surprise was that the admission for Junior High School students and under were free of charge! In Japan, arts in general, such as museums, concerts, theaters etc are quite expensive, so sadly young people can scarcely benefit from such rich source of expression. But for JOJO, it’s free!! It’s 800 yen for High School students, 1,200 yen for uni, 1,600 for adults.

【Unforgettable impression.】

So, ready to go yet? It’ll make an unforgettable memory. Don’t make it regrettable by not going.
