Hello everyone! We are Sasebo E Channel, aka E Chan.
We will be introducing a new English-friendly spot in Sasebo. Today’s spot is “Purato no kakurega” meaning a hiding place of the philosopher Plato.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Sasebo. When you enter a small door, you will find a wistful atmosphere with delightful music in the background. They serve a Japanized type of European dishes, called Youshoku. You can eat Hamburg steak, pork cutlet, Japanese curry and more. All of the dishes the owner makes are authentic and delicious! Turkish rice is worth a try. It isn’t really Turkish style just the name is. It’s one of the Nagasaki’s local cuisines which consists of pilaff, napolitan spaghetti, and a pork cutlet on a hot iron plate. If you want to eat something very filling, It will be a perfect choice!

今回、紹介するお店は、 2019年4月にオープン した音楽と洋食のお店「プラトンの隠れ家」。 古い西洋のバー のような雰囲気のある店内でおいしい洋食がいただけますよ。トルコライスがおいしそう！ しばらく食べてないな～と思ったみなさんも、上の写真を見て、うわっっ食べたい！と思ったはず！週末の夜には音楽ライブも行われているそうなので、いい音楽とおいしい料理を味わいに訪れてみてください。

トルコライスといえばガッツリ系料理の代表格ですが、「今日はガッツリ食べたい」は” I want to eat something very filling.” filling は「食べ応えのある、おなかにたまる」という意味です。「ガッツリお肉にしたい」の場合は、 ” I want to eat something meaty.” がいいでしょう。
