There are various histories about the construction of Naoya-jo castle which used to be located in Yoshii, Sasebo. Shisa clan lived there as a main castle and the theory that 1st Shisa clan, Sada constructed it in 13th century is the most prevalent. Since the lord names of the castle and its history are indisputable and the status of their preservation is quite good, the remains of Naoya-jo castle is very important as the one of mountain castles.
