このコーナーでは、佐世保のご家庭内の「ふつうのごはん」を紹介していきます。
今回はある意味アメリカの伝統料理！？ 子供も大好きな、休日にぴったりな簡単メニューをご紹介します。
In this corner we show pictures of everyday food in Sasebo. Today we have something you might call traditionally American? A menu that’s all kids’ favorite and perfect for a lazy weekend.
【 Sloppy Joe（スロッピー・ジョー） 】
見たまんまです！トーストの上にチーズとミートソース。アメリカでは、ミートソースパスタなどの翌日によく登場するメニューです。
この簡単メニュー名前は、「Sloppy Joe（スロッピー・ジョー）」。「スロッピー」は、だらしない、とか、ズボラな、の意味。食べるとベタベタになってだらしないので、スロッピー。「ジョー」は日本で言う「太郎」的な、よくある名前の例として使う名前。ここでは響きが良いので使われていると思われます。
本来はハンバーガーバンズに挟んだり、シュレッドチーズを上からかけてグリルしたり、もっと映えさせると良いのですが、ここはリアルなおうちごはんとして、最も簡単な例をご紹介しました。ミートソースが余ったら、ぜひ作ってみてくださいね♪

This easy menu is called “Sloppy Joe”. It’s a popular dish in North America and is often made on the next day of meat sauce pasta dinner.
