Have you seen a big famous camphor tree in the precincts of Tozenji temple? It is on the side of the temple gate, and is 7.4m round and 20m tall. It is presumably more than 500 years old and said it was already there in 1494 when Tozenji temple had been reconstructed. The surrounding environment is good and you can feel the strong tree vigor.
On the other hand, in Tozenji temple, there is an old domestic mirror which was offered on the Buddhist sanctum of the temple as its treasure during Genroku era. It is a traditional bronze mirror with a handle and 19cm in diameter. On its back, there are seven planets’ design surrounded by hexagonal (tortoiseshell) pattern and it will be seen through the reflection of the light. It is so-called “magic mirror”. It’s quite worthy to watch. Let’s go and absorb the power and energy of a big camphor tree and a magic mirror!

東漸寺の山門脇にあり、幹周り7.4ｍ、樹高約20ｍの規模があります。東漸寺が再興された明応３年（１４９４年）にはすでに山門の脇にあったと伝えられています。樹齢は500年を超えると推定されます。周辺の環境も良く、樹勢も盛んです。一方、東漸寺には寺宝として本殿の仏殿に上げられていた元禄頃の国産鏡があります。青銅製の柄鏡で、直径１９㎝。鏡背には亀甲に囲まれて七陽が表されており、光を白布などに反射させると、背面の模様が映るいわゆる「魔鏡」です。一度は見に行く価値がありますよ。大楠と摩鏡のパワーとエネルギーを吸収しに行ってみませんか？
