8月27日、Eチャンの夏休み講座｢えいご発音BOOKをつくろう｣を開催しました。 Ｅチャンのライターで通訳者のRie先生が、小学１～４年生までの子供たちに正しい発音を伝授しましたよ。ALTのエマニュエル先生 、シャーロット先生、 オチョア先生も参加。みんなで楽しい時間を共有しました。
On August 27, Sasebo E Channel held the 2nd summer English pronunciation class ! Our writer Rie-sensei taught English pronunciation to children for first to fourth graders by creating a pronunciation book. Assistant language teachers in public schools (Emmanuel -sensei, Charlotte -sensei, Ochoa-sensei) helped us. We had a wonderful time with children and their parents.
｢Red｣の発音は｢レッド｣じゃない？ レッドの｢レ｣の前に、小さな｢ゥ｣がある？ その時の舌の位置は？ 子供たちは気づいたことを画用紙に書いていきます。絵や文字など、表現方法は様々！ パパとママも一緒に考えました。
Students noticed R of “red” sounds different from Japanese “レ(Re)” because there is a small “ウ(Wu)” sound before “レ(Re)”. Also, they figured out the tongue position. And then, they described the pronunciations in their own way by using words and pictures. Their parents worked on it together.
先生たちがテーブルを回って、発音のお手本を見せます。 Teachers showed correct pronunciation to children at each table.
みんな、ネイティブの先生とも緊張せずに、話していましたよ。Everybody wasn’t shy and enjoyed talking to native English speakers.
PurpleのPは爆発音、pleは救急車のサイレンの音。子供の発想は面白い！ 感じ方は人それぞれですね。Children’s ideas are unique and interesting. A student says, P of “purple” is a sound of an explosion, and ple is a siren sound of an ambulance.
